In one of my first design classes as a
freshman at the University of Minnesota,
oh, so long ago, the professor passed around
a teacup for her students to seriously study.
Marybeth and I giggled.
I quickly fell in love with the history of art and design, and especially the teacup and all tabletop treasures.
After graduating from college,
I worked as a manager in the tabletop department
at Daytons’ Department Store.
My design portfolio includes images of decades of
designed, constructed and embellished amateur
and professional ice skating costumes,
and of antique and vintage tabletop treasures,
as I operated as both merchant and collector.
And now, together, we’re refurbishing a
1914 St. Paul home, both interior and exterior.
